Top 5 Sports Bars for Football Season in the Triangle

The Pumpkin Spice Latte officially returned to Starbucks today, so it is unofficially, officially Fall. Which means Football Season is upon us! Lucky for us, the Triangle is filled with great spots for catching the game, while also enjoying those game day appetizers (my fave part!). Here are the Top 5 places to visit this season and cheer on your team!

Sammy’s Tap & Grill

Location: 2235 Avent Ferry Rd, Raleigh, NC

Sammy's Tap and Grill has been West Raleigh's premier sports bar for just over 20 years! Each time I visit, I receive the most warm welcome from all the staff. This sports bar has the hometown charm we know and love. From wings to award-winning chili, their full menu is a crowd pleaser. Pictured to the right are their bacon cheese fries which I have to have every time. The ranch is 10/10. Their Fall 2022 event lineup is already on their website (woot woot!). You won’t want to miss their daily food and drink specials as well as their events like trivia, karaoke, and comedy night on top of all the sports games!

carolina ale house

Location: Multiple! Check out Carolina Ale House in Brier Creek, Cary, Durham, Garner, North Raleigh, Downtown Raleigh, and Wake Forest

Carolina Ale House is your destination for great food, sports, and fun. This is also a family-friendly option that all can enjoy! They have over 50 TVs playing games and if you don’t see the one you’re looking for, they will gladly find it for you! They have one of the widest listings of channels of any sports bar you’ll visit. When you step inside, it’s as if you’ve been transported into a Hall of Fame with walls lined with sports gear and memorabilia. Even when it’s not a game day, I frequent Carolina Ale House for their amazing spinach dip. A must-have during your next visit!

With over 22 large screen TV’s, outside viewing on a outstanding patio, 6 new Gold Crown pool tables, a great dart area, new furnishings, and an outstanding beer AND spirits selection, this is an ideal destination for your sports game watching. Woody’s Sports tavern & Grill

Location: Multiple! Find Woody’s in Cary, Downtown Raleigh, and Morrisville.

I love a local spot with multiple locations in the area! Every sports fan needs easy access to a Woody’s. Woody’s is all about a “refreshingly authentic, no-bull attitude” and remaining an independently owned business. This is a sports bar that truly stands out and I love the passion they have for what they do. Aside from being a great choice for Football Season, they also have weekly music bingo and trivia nights!

Lucky B’s

Location: 609 Tucker St, Raleigh, NC

Lucky B’s has redefined the look and feel of a sports bar. Located in the heart of Glenwood South, Lucky B’s is the self-dubbed classiest dive bar in Raleigh. “Lucky B’s has the look of a beach bar, the feel of a sports bar, and the prices of a college bar. With plenty of TVs, including some outside on the patio, this is a sports lover’s paradise. And during timeouts, play pub games like darts or ski ball!” To no surprise, they have won the prestigious Z Spotlight – “Raleigh’s Best All-Around Bar” for years!

Cheers to football season spent with friends and all the good game day snacks! I hope you enjoy a visit to one of these fun local spots!
