Read for my vsco girl tutorial

I almost fell like five times during this post sksksk

Hi friends! If you’ve been following along (if not click here), you know that I have had the pleasure of working with Cameron Village on some different posts this Fall. This month I’ve been collaborating with Great Outdoor Provision Co in the Village. This is a store I have loved for years, but it has always been just the go-to gift store for guys friends and dad. In the past, I had never fully explored their collection of women’s clothing. I had tried on a Patagonia or two, but never gave their other pieces a second look. But now my world has been changed.

Enough talking let me show you….

For this blog post, I wanted to showcase some of their beautiful everyday pieces because, let me tell you, this store is not just for the super active, let’s hike a mountain today kind of girl. Cuz that is definitely not me. I’m the let’s walk like a mile maybe and then go get pizza. I found many items that I could transition from work to a walk to the State Fair to a night out with friends.

These rocks we found at the NC Museum of Art are the closest thing to a mountain that I’ll probably ever climb, so that gives you a pretty good grasp of how outdoorsy I am lolol.

I was SO in love with this outfit. This sweater was a winner and I have to go back for it. First, it has all my favorite colors and second, statement sleeves are the only current trend that I hope stays for a while. While looking around GOPC, I saw so many sweaters that were on the casual side such as this one. I have realized that I have zero good quality sweaters and now that I’ve been to GOPC I’ve tracked down some cute ones for cozy sznnn.

You know how bloggers are always like, “I’ve been getting so many questions about this, so here you go……proceeds to sell you on something that you did not care about…blah blah blah.” Well, this time, I have LEGIT been getting a lot of people asking me, “What is a vsco girl?” If you follow me on the gram, you probably saw my frequent use of the terms: vsco girl, kanken bag, hydroflask, skskskksksk, during my giveaway posts with GOPC. I am here to explain. According to dictionary.com,

What does VSCO girl mean?
VSCO girl is a term, generally used as an insult, for a young woman who posts trendy pictures of herself edited on the app VSCO.

Stereotypes of the VSCO girl include wearing scrunchies and Birkenstock sandals, drinking out of Hydro Flask reusable water canisters, saying sksksk and I oop, and generally seeking attention online.

From Urban Dictionary:
a vsco girl is a very aesthetically pleasing (extremely pretty) girl who edits all her instagram pictures with the vsco app with the filter C1. She will normally have a hydroflask, any type of chocker, fjallraven kanken, or a polaroid camera .

And i oop. I disagree with dictionary.com about it being an insult, but pretty much everything else is accurate. Honestly, after experience my kanken bag, vsco girls are onto something. I took home that beautiful yellow bag and filled it up with my laptop and camera bag filled with equipment and upon putting it on my back, it felt almost weightless. It is SO COMFY. These bags are all made with a foam, flat back that gives you the ultimate support, and I guess for me, I am just used to a backpack where the weigh is distributed horribly, so this felt so incredible compared to the rest. Let’s just all become vsco girls for the sake of our backs.

Okay let’s talk Patagonia. Their designs this season are far from basic. Mother always tells me I need to invest in an actual Winter coat and I think this is going to be THE ONE. This outfit definitely felt the most easy to put together and casual. Throw on any white tee (GOPC has some too!), jeans, and then this classy Patagonia and you’ve got yourself a look. I love it!

Did you know that Patagonia makes dresses!?!? This is something I was totally blown away with when I was shopping at GOPC. They make some super cute floral dresses and last time I was there, they’ve got one on the mannequin with this jacket on top and my hat pictured earlier and it was so. darn. cute.

I was also super surprised by Great Outdoor Provision Co. when I found out that THIS jacket is Patagonia too. I am always down for a boujee fur number. I love that they’re coming out with unique designs that are Patagonia quality and features, but without the same look that everyone else is wearing. Yes I am an enneagram 4 and I like uniqueness. Sorry not sorry.

So yes, Great Outdoor Provision Company is still the move when you’re in need of a good flannel or a gift for Dad, BUT it is also now the move for a boujee fur jacket, a trendy felt hat, floral dresses, and alllllll your vsco girl essentials. I hope you all head into the Trusty GOPC for all your sweater weather needs and holiday gifts too! Thank you to Cameron Village for sponsoring this post!

Happy Cozy sznnnn!
